Hi All

A new list server is now up and running, guess you all know that , just thought I'd put a post on the forum as I still think we should keep it open (Helen should keepmit open I mean) because we may need it one day. The coloured strips are excellent by the way.

Modesty Blaise and the KGB!

Headline news -- an ex-KGB agent is to buy the Evening Standard, current home of the Modesty Blaise strip. Reportedly, Mr. Lebedev used to search the Evening Standard for information when he was a young spy in London. Did he read Modesty Blaise, too...?

(And I wonder of Modesty would have been offended by the low price of one pound)

Hi everyone

I've set this up as there seemed to be problems with the MB mailing list lately (people couldn't join who wanted to, people couldn't leave, and the archives had gone missing) so I figured a forum would be a good way to go. We can give it a shot and see what happens...

Also, if this does work and everyone uses it, it would be great to have two or more people co-administering the forum so that if anyone's away/busy/etc. things don't grind to a halt (not that it should need much ...

Hi All

I found this forum thru the mailing list so i hope it takes off. I discovered MB when I was about 13 or 14 as my mum had the 1st MB book as well as I Lucifer. I got as many of the others out of the local library as I could. Skip forward nearly thirty years (bloody hell 30 years !!!!! where did that time go......) thanks to ebay i'v just finished collecting all 13 books this year and read them again plus the ones I missed or that had not been written. MB is still a damn good read, ...

Hi everyone, I'm posting this on behalf of Julie:

Modesty Blaise London Walk

Saturday 11 October 2008

Meet at 10:00 at Westminster Abbey (grass outside) and finish at 14:00 in Mayfair

Guided by a London Blue Badge holder, this walk will give Modesty Blaise readers the chance to see the London sights that inspired the locations featuring in the stories about Modesty Blaise and Willie Garvin, such as Sir Gerald Tarrant's Whitehall office, his gentlemen's club and Modesty's penthouse.

I´m sure there is hundreds of them in London -but does anyone know a good one where I might find some original Modesty strips or books?
I´m attending the Walk on 11/10 and want to use the opportunity to find something nice. I´m not familiar with London at all and will only stay for the weekend so don´t have too much time to look around either...
